♥ Lock your love forever in one of the most romantic cities in the world ♥
As you all know I was in Paris a couple of weeks ago with my lovely boyfriend. We had a great time walking the streets of Paris and every night ended with a romantic dinner with wine where we would talk about the day and whatever came across our minds.
When I wrote about Paris here on my blog I said I had a little surprise that I would post on Valentine’s Day, and as promised I’m writing about the most romantic thing we did in Paris.
Along Pont des Arts you will find the place in Paris where love is all around. It is a bridge where people from around the world have locked their love, literally with a lock on the bridge. During the week before our departure I read a lot about Paris and I came across an amazing blog, Anna with Love, and she introduced me to this. I instantly thought that this sounded so romantic and thought: how romantic would it be if my boyfriend and I could lock our love on our first visit to Paris together?
I completely fell in love with this bridge and the idea of locking your love in Paris. I spent a while walking up and down the bridge reading some of the locks and there were a lot of people who had made quite an effort with their locks (just look at the picture with Dima and Olya's lock, it's amazing). I could not help but smile, but my favourite moment was when Kjell Steinar and I found the perfect spot on the bridge for our lock. So the next time we’re visiting Paris we will have to go back to that bridge and see if our lock is still there in the sea of love.
Thats the sweetest thing ever:)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

Oh damn it - we went to Paris a few year ago (my husband surprised me for my birthday - bless him)but I didn't know of this bridge and I'd have loved to have locked our love there. Guess I'll have to hope we can secure it enough ourselves?? Such a romantic idea too!!
ReplyDeleteI am a Brit (though we recently moved to Dubai) and used to love our weekends in London; great food and shopping and catching a show. I actually lived in in Kentish Town and worked in Selfridges many moons ago. Great place.
Thanks for popping by my humble blog (wordsinsync.blogspot.com) and reading my Valentine Ghost Story. Hope you pop back tomorrow for part two. I'm returning the follow too btw. Shah X
What a cute idea!! Love the concept of locking your love. I did that a few summers ago in Cinque Terre, Italy... they have the same thing along the Lover's Trail hike.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day!
Cupcake - Thank you, I want to do that next trip to Paris too. =)
ReplyDeleteShah Wharton - What a lovely surprise from your husband! I think that secures your love. So romantic to buy a trip to Paris.
Dubai, wow. How is it living there? I love living in London, it is so much to do here. There is never a boring day.
Thank you for popping by my blog. I hope to hear more from you and I will for sure pop by your blog tomorrow for part two of the ghost story. =)
Twenty.Something - I didn't know they had the same concept in Italy, that is amazing! I love that! Personally I love Italy and I would love to go back someday. Maybe I should visit the Lover's Trail Hike then ;)

a womans right to... Dubai is BIG and HOT and CLEAN. It's ostentatious too! And expensive. But it's not New York or Europe. It's lacking in class. They think you can buy it, but you can't. But it's okay to live here for three years (husbands minimal contract). It might grow on us a bit by then, who knows. Italy - Wow id love to go there. We actually got married at the Venetian Hotel in Vegas and took a gondela ride before our amazing meal. It was a stunning day. Closest I actually got to Venice though, tragically. Sure we'll get there one day. Shah .X
ReplyDeleteMelissa - Thank you so much for your sweet comment =)
ReplyDeleteJohanne - Thank you, sweetie. I had actually never heard about it either before I read that blog and I am so glad I saw it before we went on our holiday and not after =)
Claire - Paris truly was amazing. Before my holiday with my boyfriend now I had only been with my parents too, although we stayed at Disney Land (which was pretty cool) so we only had one day in actual Paris. But seeing Paris like this was so dreamy =)
Raji - Thank you so much, it actually was very romantic =)And happy Valentine's Day to you too =)
Katie - Aww, now you're giving me goosebumps for saying that you got it. I'm glad you liked it and I'm really glad we did this in Paris. It truly is true love =)
Meri - Thank you =) And thank you for reading it =)
Shah - Dubai sounds like what I imagined it would be. I really wanted to go a while back but now I'm not so sure anymore. And I don't really know why. Hoping you're enjoying it though =) I was in Vegas this summer, actually. Didn't get married though, haha, but still had a fabulous time! The Venetian Hotel is so beautiful, I would actually like to stay there if I ever go back to Vegas. But I would also very much like to go to Venice. =)
Sooo romantic! I adore this idea. Perfect for V-day that just passed!
ReplyDeleteIt really was romantic and I am so glad that we were able to do this. Hope you had a great V-day =)
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous you got to lock your love in Paris!! Seriously, so dreamy.. sigh.
ReplyDeleteHusband and I locked our love in St George, Utah :)
I am loving your blog!!
Thank you so much for your sweet comment. It was very romantic and I am so glad we got to do it. But it also sounds very romantic to do it in Utah, all that matters is who you do it with =)
ReplyDeleteThis is extraordinary, and oh so romantic <3 I've not travelled overseas yet. But one day, when I get to Paris, I will come prepared!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet

If you're ever in Europe then you have to visit both Paris and London, I love them both! But London is closest to my heart but Paris really is romantic. You should definitely check out Lock Love when you're there =)
