Hare & Tortoise

Source
My best friend Johanne turned 25 yesterday and she celebrated her birthday by inviting some good friends out to dinner. The restaurant of her choice was Hare & Tortoise and I thought it was about time for another restaurant review, because this place is amazing!

Hare & Tortoise is a pan-Asian restaurant where the menu is mostly Japanese where also Chinese and Malaysian items are thrown in. There are several places in London where you can find this restaurant; Putney (where we were having dinner yesterday), Kensington, Ealing, Bloomsbury and Blackfriars.

I believe this is mainly a sushi restaurant and I honestly have to admit that I am not a sushi person. But Johanne and her boyfriend Joachim are and as I have understood from them the sushi is amazing here. And I trust them so if they say so then it is without a doubt true. But there is also food for us non-sushi eaters, such as chicken chow mein, roast duck, beef chilli in black bean sauce and grilled chicken ramen. They also have some vegetarian dishes. Their food is cheap, tastes great and you’ll leave the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. The only thing I would say is slightly negative is the service. It is not the best but I would definitely go back for the food. We all left with a big smile on our faces yesterday and I recommend this restaurant if you’re ever in London. Perfect for families, birthday parties and dates.

Happy birthday again, my lovely Johanne!

  1. Yummy we will be back at London for a visit in September or October and I'm a recent convert to sushi - years ago I loathed it but when you've had good sushi - there's no turning back. We went to L.A's Koi (think that's the spelling) on our honeymoon and few years ago and it was outstanding. We'll definitely try this out when there. Reading your blog really makes me miss home. I have to try to remember the rain and I feel a tiny bit better ;D

Wanted to let you know I've nominated your lovely blog for a Bloscar for Most Helpful Blog over at http://eisymorgan.blogspot.com/ Nominations end in 12ish hours and then voting begins. Good luck - Shah ,X
